A Day for Mothers

This is a brief entry to honor my mother (M.) who gave me life. She is 70 and going strong. An intelligent, loving, and honorable person who is but one in a robust and ancient line... Thanks, Mom.

  1. A kindly and thoughtful tribute. For most of us it is difficult to consider a "robust and ancient line" much beyond two or three preceding generations of mothers. However, we do,indeed, come from an almost unfathomable lineage, receding into an ancestry beyond imagination. What secrets do we carry? What untapped potential? What is the source of our daily strengths, not to mention our daily weaknesses? So we carry stardust in our veins.
(so to speak). No matter how often it happens, there is nothing more mysterious than growing another human being inside of one's womb--giving birth to that life which then take its unique position in the ancient line. Absolutely astonishing!!
